Check it out, beachcombers! These AJ seashell buttons offer the next best thing to an oceanside vacation. Going back to the 1930's, these golden AJ beauties are shaped and carved to resemble true scallops and inset with with butterscotch squares for a decidedly art deco look. I'm a huge fan of the historic district in Miami Beach and these ritzy shells convey a hint of that vintage waterfront splendor. I flipped the top button over to show how the carved lines don't interfere with the inserted square piece. Think of these buttons as a forerunner in anticipation of more ocean-themed buttons that I'll be posting later this month. Get set for a Bakelite wave of nautical gems, coming soon!
