Toggle Tuesday: Dandy Butterscotch
Bakelite toggle buttons come in all shapes, colors, sizes and styles. This one is large with deeply cut grooves fanned across two sides of the Bakelite's paddle-like construction. The color is a vibrant butterscotch that leans a bit toward mustard. How would you describe this button's unusual shape? Is it a bow tie—or an hourglass, or something else? Imagine a whole row of these buttons running down a handsome blouse. A dandy toggle to be sure. From the 1920's.
