Wintertime is fading fast, but here's a trio of random coat buttons in the jet-black color we Bakelite junkies call licorice. I was polishing these yesterday, but stopped midway in order to preserve their flattering patina. (A little dust isn't a bad thing in vintage button world.) Each its own unique design, I still can't pick a favorite. Illustrating the diversity of carved Bakelite, these old buttons go back to the Great Depression Era.
