Butterscotch Beau Idéal

The way I see it, the perfect Bakelite butterscotch button looks something like this: dark yellow in a slightly overcooked tone that leans a bit toward mustard and then carved this way and that way for a rough-hewn design that's brimming with etched fish scales and boldly dramatic grooves that are caked in a noticeable smattering of patina. Voila! This old coat button is among my most treasured butterscotch antiques on account of its impactful layout and simply amazing style. From the 1930's.
