Face the music, friends! Here's an animated little pair of tuneful notes in bright orange Bakelite. These "trinket buttons" were just added to my collection last month. I bought them from my friend Doreen, but that's not all that landed in my shopping bag. Check out the quirky pencil button. It's a cylinder made of creamed corn Bakelite—painted black around the sides with a painted black tip. The vintage sheet music I've used for a background is a song titled "Morning Cy" from the year 1908! The buttons aren't quite as old, likely going back to the 1930's or 40's.
