A rare beauty of a button, here's something very unusual that I purchased from my friend Doreen a few years ago. Look closely. This is a two-tone button in a double dose of deep reds. The top layer is a dual section in wine-colored Bakelite while the base, or bottom of the button is a lighter shade that I'm calling sun-kissed raspberry—also Bakelite. A thick and oddly structured chunk of 1930's plastic, I hold this to be a lucky zinger.
