Screw Top Hoopla

Sunny weather practically begs for photos of creamed spinach buttons when the perfect lighting allows all the swirled coloring to really and truly shine. So here it is: a large Bakelite sensation that I call a "screw top" design and which also qualifies as an example of the art deco style. The minimal details that went into the cut and contours of the button are geometrically simple while the incredible galaxy of cream tones stirred into the green Bakelite are positively hypnotic. From the 1920's.
