Stare at this large black coat button for a minute and let your imagination run wild. When I look at this mammoth beast, I see a beanstalk or maybe a geyser shooting through eagle wings alongside a tangled badminton net going up in flames! What is this button saying with its tangled hodgepodge of fancy engravings? Carved Bakelite to the extreme, this busy eyeful could be having a style crisis. Yet despite its overwrought features, every detail of the design is geometrically even from one side to the other, making this hectic button a true beauty as well. From the 1930's.
