Looks like this old button is Puttin' On The Ritz! With its showy style and carved details, this is a classic ART DECO button—probably dating back to the early 1930's if not earlier. Both pieces of this unique design are made of Bakelite plastic. The transparent section is Apple Juice Bakelite, which is carved on the underside with a crisscross design or a grid pattern. The black piece, also Bakelite, forms a zigzag corner that gives this button it's vogue oomph. Shaped into a spiffy sort of abstract envelope, this major charmer is a Jazz-Age dandy...and that's showbiz!
