"Orange juice" in the world of Bakelite is a type of brightly swirled color that typically gives off scads of light. A strange exception would be this pair of Bakelite buttons in a very dark shade of OJ that's uncharacteristically dingy. Or maybe I've got it all wrong and these are actually yam juice buttons? Notwithstanding their lack of refulgence, these are exquisite buttons in the "undercut" variety with eight sharp folds on top that give the impression of inward-pointed spikes. I flipped the other button over to show how dissimilar the sides are. Circa 1930.
