The Yellow Rose of (Not) Texas
For the first time in my life, I finally made it to Texas this summer where I road-tripped all the way down to El Paso. Alas, I didn't find a single Bakelite button on my trip through the Lone Star State. This yellow rose button (made of creamed corn Bakelite) comes from Santa Fe, New Mexico where the Bakelite isn't quite so hard to find. The central beautification on this old doozy is a glass bead in bright pink. Made in the 1930's
